Over 60,000 citizens are submitted for anti-sermical flu vaccines on the face of the health ministry, which will be vaccinated in certain terms. So has public health institute director Marija Andonovska.
She stressed that the vaccine takes place at all public health centres on state territory, in their regional entities and in some health centres. Andonovska explains that all citizens who want to be vaccinated must apply to get the term.
Citizens are able to appear on the health ministry’s site, vaccinacya.mk, set up their records and wait to get a term, where they will be informed when and where the vaccine should come to be vaccinated. So far, we are satisfied with the interest of the citizens who are showing interest. So far over 60,000 citizens who want to receive the vaccine have been submitted. That’s approximately the average of previous years. We expect that the number may increase, but, as in the past years, interest is more or less similar, Marija Andonovska told Shenja.
Referring to the most endangered flu categories preferred to be vaccinated, she said that people over 65, chronically ill, children between six months and five years of age, pregnant women and health workers are the most endangered and more likely categories for vaccines.
Let me talk about older or chronically ill people because the presence of the flu virus or any other virus can cause the deterioration of the disease they already have, like chronic disease. But it may also be that the symptoms of younger and healthier people who have better immune responses can have weaker immune responses and specific complications or risks to their health, even vasporation or death. Even pregnant women are part of the endangered group, Andonovska said.
As for young children Andonoska, it says their immune system has not yet developed enough to fight different virtues, so it is preferred to be vaccinated. Andonovska says taking the vaccine helps prevent the risk of complications and hospitalization.
Andonovska appealed all those in the endangered categories to be vaccinated, and said that for all others, general recommendations against flu such as washing hands, not staying in closed environments with many people, wearing a mask, adapting a temperature and feeding a healthy diet.
