At the Constitutional Court in Pristina, hearings have begun in the retrial against Fitim Doda, charged with attempted murder and illegal weapons, after the Supreme Court annulled the convictions against him and turned the case into restoration.
Doda was originally sentenced to 7 years and 10 months in prison, while the Court of Appeals had reduced her sentence to 5 years and 8 months. Following a plea for protection of legitimacy, the Supreme Party requested review of the case, as the Signal newspaper reported earlier.
At the center of the Supreme assessment was the purpose of the accused: whether he had shot to kill the injured or to intimidate him. The court identified the uncertainty about the lead trajectory and called for the country’s re-contamination of the event.
According to the indictment, the event had taken place on March 26, 2024, about 13:50, on the street of éHaji Zekaʹ in Pristina. The prosecution claims that Doda, from the inside of a car, had fired several times with AK-47 automatic weapons towards the car leading Naim Berisha. A missile allegedly hit Berisha’s neck, causing him slight bodily injury.
The Doda had pleaded guilty to illegal possession while rejecting the charge of attempted murder. In the retrial, circumstances that the Supreme One has deemed unconcerned are expected to be considered.
