France’s President Emmanuel Macron has sent a letter of congratulations to Kosovo President Justina Shiroka Pula on the occasion of taking office. On paper, he has stressed the importance of normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia and has reaffirmed France’s support for the facilitated dialogue by the European Union.
According to the Kosovo Presidency, Macro has voiced hope that the election of Shiroka Pula will spur Kosovo’s progress on the European road.
The French president has recalled the meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Paris in March and has praised the partnership between the two countries. He has also mentioned new agreements signed during the French minister’s visit to Europe to Kosovo in July.
