Meta targets $95 billion for artificial intelligence competition, aims to rival OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta, the Facebook and Instagram mother company, is planning a huge funding operation to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure ( IA), in a global race where technology companies are investing record-blown amounts to gain supremacy.

Under the plan, the company aims to secure tens of billions of dollars through stock bids, aimed at financing large data centres, increased computer power and development of the capacities needed to compete with the rivals OpenAI and Anthropic.

In this financial operation, the stock offering of some $35 billion is accompanied by plans to provide up to $60 billion more through stock sales. Even the giants of the Nvivia chip industry have shown interest in this process. AMD and Broadway, which can buy Meta shares worth up to five billion dollars.

However, the company’s technological ambition comes at high cost. Meta expects its capital investments this year to reach $1 145 billion, while expanding the IA infrastructure requires continued financial resources.

Financial pressure has been reflected in the company’s latest results. Meta reported net release of $2.12 billion in the third quarter, although revenues reached $64.6 billion, over market expectations.

Massive investments show that the competition for artificial intelligence is entering an increasingly costly phase, where computer power and infrastructure can determine the position of companies in the global technology market.

For Meta, the challenge is to invest record sums today to preserve competitiveness in the future, in a race where rivals are also trying to expand capacities and develop more advanced technology.
