The party’s chairman, Yasar Gadi Eisencot, has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his party Likud of holding an organised campaign to delegate election results after failing to secure the majority.
In a public address, Eisencott said the statements by Netanyah and Likuud representatives were prepared in advance, while stressing that they would not allow any attempts to prevent the opening of the Israeli parliament, Knesset, and the oath of MPs according to the plan.
It is clear that Likud and Netanyah have launched a co-ordinated and organised campaign to delegate election results. They’re doing this because they lose and they don’t have the majority, Eixencott said.
He also spoke of allegations of foreign intervention in the elections, suggesting he had met the Chief of Security Service Shin Bet and the head of the Central Election Committee, of which he was informed of the situation.
According to him, it is still early to determine what happened and whether there has really been interference. He demanded that the investigation be completed without political influence, writes mysophytrael.
Eisencot named foreign intervention in Israel as unacceptable and especially disturbing if it includes a state that finances terrorism and supports Hamas. He referred to Qatar, saying that this state had managed to penetrate the Israeli prime minister’s office.
It is essential to investigate whether they have tried to exert influence and through whom they intended to do so, he said.
Yashhar’s head also introduced some of his political priorities, including a law on military recruiting and the service of all Israeli citizens, the establishment of a state investigative commission on the 7 October attacks, reforming the budget mechanism and measures to give priority to those serving in the military.
Eisencots said preparations for these initiatives have started and that, in co-ordination with his partners, it will be intended for them to be put to the polls after the opening of Knesset.
He also accused Netanyah of using state institutions for his own personal interests, at the expense of the country’s interests.
The days have ended when Netanyah uses state institutions against Israel’s interests to protect his personal interests, Eisencott said.
In conclusion, he said the Israeli public had voted against the Netanyah-led government, which linked him to the events of October 7th and against those who evade military service.
He urged citizens to show calm and patience, expressing conviction that the political situation can change. /Telegraphy/
