An eight-year-old girl in severe condition after being attacked by a wolf at a zoo in Germany

An 8-year-old girl was attacked by at least one wolf within the animal space of a German zoo and suffered serious injuries, officials announced.

The attack occurred Wednesday during a special children’s activity in the Wild Animal Park éhannismühle, south of Berlin, officials from the Teltow-Fläming district announced through a press release, write foreign media, records Telegrafi.

The girl was rushed to the hospital, said the announcement.

One zoo worker intervened before two more girls, also located within the Arctic wolves, were attacked.

At that moment, the wolves were given water.

The zoo has been closed until a second notice, as investigations are under way.

Earlier this year, a wolf bit a woman in a shopping area in Hamburg, according to authorities.

This is believed to be the first such attack since wolves returned to the country in 1998. /Telegraph/
