Kosovo agricultural input prices rise by 8 percent

The most pronounced growth is recorded in goods and services directly used in agricultural activities. The Input Index 1 has marked annual growth of 12 percent, including seeds, planting material, energy, fuel, waste, pesticides, veterinarian expenses, and animal food.

On the other hand, agricultural – investment inputs have also been expensive. According to the AKS, Input Index 2, including machinery, equipment, farm buildings and investment jobs, has increased by 3.8 percent.

Data shows that the pressure of rising prices is greater on farmers’ daily expenses than on long – term investments in the agricultural sector.

For the implementation of this publication, the ASS has collected data on agricultural drugs, veterinarian drugs, companies, markets, and other trades and services for agriculture.

The Agricultural Input Awards Index is published by the Kosovo Statistics Agency and reflects the changes of the costs farmers face in their production and investment activity.
