Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that the November 29th general elections will prove that Spain is governed from within, and not from Washington, Tel Aviv, Buenos Aires, or Moscow, while promising to resist the influence of the extreme international right.
Speaking at an electoral rally in Tarragona, Sanchez defended his government’s positions in foreign policy, as well as opposition to increased military spending.
On November 29th, we will say by our vote that Spain is governed by Spain, not Washington, not Tel Aviv, not Buenos Aires, not Moscow, but by Spain, Sanchez declared.
We will not allow our country to become an advanced point or the courtyard of the extreme international right, he added.
Sanchez stressed his government’s opposition to the war in Iran and what he described as “genocide in Gaza,” while reaffirming support for the creation of a Palestinian state and peaceful co-existence between Israel and Palestine.
The Spanish prime minister also defended his decision to reject US President Donald Trump’s request that defence spending reach 5% of GDP.
According to Sanchezi, Spain will continue to give priority to education, health, social care and pensions.
He promised that he would continue opposition to the extreme right, describing Spain as afeener who, according to him, will continue to inspire the world.
