In Serbia today, early parliamentary elections are being held, in which citizens vote for the election of 250 Parliament deputies. In this race, student lists are expected to challenge Aleksandar Vucinqi’s power.
The locations are open at 7:00 p.m. and will remain open until 8:00. All citizens who at the moment of closure are within their destination or in line to vote will be allowed to exercise that right.
According to the first reports, rows have been set in several locations since the first minutes after opening.
Focusing on these choices has also focused on student lists, and the outcome they can reach in the face of Vuciqi’s power.
Meanwhile, Albanian parties in the Presevo Valley compete in these elections with a common list, with the aim of ensuring the representation of Albanians in Serbia’s Parliament.
On the eve of the vote, numerous political, institutional and public figures from Kosovo have called on Kosovo Albanians in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja to make it as massive as possible in elections and support the joint Albanian list.
Calls for participation have been addressed to citizens who live in Kosovo fairly, inviting them to travel to their homeland to vote. Their participation has been described as important for empowering the voice of Albanians and representing their demands in Serbia’s institutions.
