Paris, Rome, and Barcelona are not the only cities worth visiting for a weekend in Europe. A new ranking for 2027 has highlighted other destinations offering history, culture, architecture and special experiences for tourists.
According to a ranking reported by Euronews on 13 October, Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, is positioned first among the top ten European destinations for short travel.
The city attracts visitors with the combination of historical heritage and modern life. One of the best-known points is Cathedral Alexander Nevsky, while the city centre offers roads with historical architecture, cafes, restaurants and contemporary spaces.
This ranking includes other European cities, such as Lisbon, Portugal, Bristol, the United Kingdom, Lewen, Belgium, and Verona in Italy.
Each offers various experiences, ranging from gastronomy and cultural activities to monuments and walks in historical centers.
This ranking points out that a brief trip to Europe should not be limited to the best known tourist destinations, since even the least mentioned cities can offer special experiences.
