This year’s World Day theme is your journal to the world, highlighting the essential role of audiovisive heritage in relations and understanding among societies around the world.
In a U communique NESTO, it is said, audiovisual targets tell stories about people’s lives and cultures from around the world. They constitute an invaluable legacy, which is a statement of our collective memory and a valuable source of knowledge, as they reflect the cultural, social and linguistic diversity of our communities.
Maintaining this heritage and ensuring that it remains vulnerable to the public and future generations is a vital goal for all memory institutions, as well as the general public. U Archives NESTO has launched the digitalisation of our common history at U. This is exactly what it means.
This day also serves as an opportunity for U member states NESCO will assess their achievements in implementing 2015 Recommission on Conservation and Access to Documentary Heritage, including in digital form.
