Volkswagen suspends the electric Golf, here’s what happened to the project.

Volkswagen has decided to temporarily suspend development of new electricity model ID. Golf, within efforts to cut spending and control investments.

The decision was confirmed by the company’s financial leader, David Powells, who said the project would remain pending until the necessary funds are secured.

However, this does not mean the cancellation of electric Golf.

Volkswagen stresses that development can resume in the future, but still does not have a definite date.

The model was expected to be introduced by the end of this decade, but delays in developing the new SSP electric platform, software problems and high costs have postponed company plans.

Already, 2030 is viewed as a more realistic deadline for its debut.

Meanwhile, current versions of Golf with internal burn and hybrid engines will continue to be produced.

Volkswagen is also planning to shift Golfi’s production from Germany to Mexico during 2027, as part of the cost reduction strategy.
