Through a post on the social network X, Torres has expressed his concern over the escalation of violence, while Albanian Police actions have described them as unacceptable.
Albanians have the right to protest peacefully, police must respect the right of protesters to protest and preserve the rule of law, the US Congressman wrote.
He also stressed that the situation should be strained and alarming violence stopped so that tensions do not escalate further.
Ritchie Torres represents the 15th district of New York in the United States House of Representatives, which includes part of the Bronx.
