At the Foundation Court in Pristina, the Special Department has failed to hold the initial hearing of Miljeljko Djjjevic, charged with war crimes against the civilian population in Zvecan during 1998 1999.
Due to the failure to hold the hearing, there has been a failure to hand out any paperwork from the Special Prosecutor to the defendant’s defense attorney.
For this reason, defence has declared that conditions for keeping the initial session have not been met.
The hearing was scheduled to be held today at the Special Department, under the direction of Judge Action Shyti.
According to the indictment, filed on October 12th 2026, Djorgjevic allegedly committed crimes against the civilian population in co-ordination with other members of Serbian police forces.
The prosecution claims that the accused, under individual and command responsibility, was involved in murder, inhuman treatment, intimidation, destruction of property, mass deportation and ethnic cleansing of the civilian population.
