New 515 KSF soldiers sworn in, Kurti warns over 1 billion euros in military investment

In Kazerma HINA Jasharı in Pristina, 515 new Kosovo Security Force recruits have been sworn in ( KSF).

Parliament Speaker Albulen Haxhiu, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia, and Deputy Officers of the Ministry of Defence and KSF attended the oath.

Prime Minister Kurti has declared that the Government intends to invest over 1 billion euros in the military during this mandate, stressing that the development of KSF remains one of its priorities.

Over the past term, the military budget tripled. In this mandate, our pledge is to invest over 1 billion euros in the military. We recruited 3,220 new soldiers, expanding our ranks and reaching more than double in number. In addition, we have another generation to start training this year, and with them, we’re achieving the military capacities that were previously achieved in 2028. So we’ve accelerated for two years the realisation of our strategic goals, Kurti said.

He has announced that by the end of this year, ammunition production is expected to begin as well as in the factory, which, according to him, is being built in Gjakova.

We have also advanced in the defence industry; by the end of this year we will also start producing ammunition at the factory that we are taking up in Gjakova, 100% local, and we are supporting the private sector that wants to produce military products, Kurti has declared.
