Lara Colturi starts season with podium, Albanian takes second place in Austria

Albanian skier Lara Coltur has launched the new World Cup season on alpine skiing, taking second place in the giant slalom race in Sölden, Austria.

Colturi finished the race with a total of 2 minutes, 14 seconds and 83 percent, only 18 percent behind winner Paula Moltzan.

In third place was Emma Aicher, completing the podium of the season opening race.

In the first descent, the skier representing Albania recorded 1:08.05, ranking sixth.

At the second descent, however, Colturi showed an even better performance, ending at 1:06.78 and securing the climb to the podium.

Its appearance was especially important, for it left behind some of the most popular names of the sport, including Michaela Siffren and Camille Rast, who failed to rank in their first three positions.

With this result, Coltur starts the new season with a significant success, providing positive signals for the upcoming World Cup competitions on alpine skiing.
