Saudi Arabia reopens main airport following deadly attacks

Saudi Arabia has reopened to international flights the country’s main airport, more than two weeks after Yemeni’s Iranian-backed deadly rebels’ deadly attacks turned it off.

Meanwhile, Saudi authorities have announced that on Sunday they were intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile and a threat released by rebels in the direction of the capital, Riyadh.

King Khalid International Airport has announced that terminals 1 and 2 have been reopened for local and international flights, starting Sunday. Last week, the airport had resumed operations only for a limited number of domestic flights.

In early October, the Huthhi attacks hit a complex containing two other airport terminals, causing 17 victims and over 330 injuries.

Despite the airport reopening, fears and rocket attacks towards Saudi Arabia have continued, raising security concerns in the country.
