Former Director of the Correcting Service: All involved in the Arlinda case had to resign

Former Kosovo Corresponding Service Director Emrush Thaci has said all officials involved in handling the Arlinda Zekij case should resign immediately, without expecting the government’s required reports.

On show F. IVE, Thaci has said that in such cases it should not be expected 48 or 72 hours, but must be done immediately against officials involved, including their suspension when there are doubts that argue such a move.

Not after 48 hours, not after 72 hours, right there, when the case happened, all the acters who were involved were supposed to go home, Thaci said.

He has stressed that the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has a role in dealing with allegations of police actions and that measures should be taken according to the investigation findings.

According to Thaci, the government’s research of reports does not replace the direct responsibility of relevant institutions, while delays in accountability weigh the situation.
