Kosovo Assembly Speaker Albulen Haxhiu has hosted representatives of the Kosovo Women’s Network today, with which she has discussed advancing gender equality and women’s rights.
Haxhiu has indicated that during the meeting, it has been discussed for the priorities of the parliamentary gender agenda, the drafting of laws from the gender perspective, and the empowering of the country’s supervisory role in their implementation, Dukajni reports.
She has expressed commitment that during this legislature this agenda will further advance, in close co-operation with women’s organisations.
Haxhiu has particularly praised the multi-year work of the Kosovo Women’s Network and its 106 member organisations, stressing the importance of their commitment to implementing legally guaranteed rights.
