Government Approves 2027 Budget Bill

The Kosovo government has adopted the Bill on Budget Breaks for 2027, which envisions budget revenues for the first time exceed the value of 4 billion euros.

Finance Minister Iron Murati, during the presentation of the draft budget, said Bruto Local Product ( BPV) is expected in 2027 to reach 30.4 billion euros, while public debt remains at about 16 percent of BPV.

According to Murati, Kosovo’s economy is expected to mark real growth of 4.2 percent in 2027, while growth of 4.5 and 4.6 percent is forecast for 2028 and 2029.

He said that during the first half of 2026, the economy has increased by 5.44 percent, while private and public investments have increased by 7.9 percent. Also, export of goods during the January-July period has increased by 22.9 per cent.

Murati indicated that, according to the Tax Administration’s data, in the first half of 2026 in Kosovo were employed 445 thousand and 542 persons, or 5.2 percent more than the same period in the preceding year.

As far as inflation was concerned, the minister said that the average by September 2026 was 6.6 percent, while for 2027 it is estimated to be about 4 percent.

A budget so I’m bringing ahead of you with optimism but with confidence, because it relies on an emerging economy, on an expanding labour market and on sound public finances. Kosovo today has a stable growth economy. In 2027 the gross domestic product is expected to reach 30.4 billion euros. Budget revenues for the first time will exceed 4 billion euros, while public debt remains at about 16% gross domestic product, which is among the lowest levels in the region. That means more jobs, higher salaries and better services for our citizens, Murati has declared.
