Real doesn’t give up Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool waiting

According to English media, the Spanish giant plans to keep the 28-year-old for a long time, thus closing the doors for a possible departure during the passing January deadline.

Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool in May 2025, after failing to renew the contract with the club he formed as a football player. He joined Real Madrid for only 10m euros, causing great dissatisfaction with English team fans.

However, his adventure in Spain has not gone according to expectations. Although he has repeatedly demonstrated his qualities, the English man has failed to repeat the form he had in Énfield.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho, this season has preferred Federico Valverden and Denzel Dumfrees to the right guard position, limiting Alexander-Arnold to only eight performances in all races.

This situation has sparked speculations of a possible return to England, where Liverpool has been mentioned as a possible destination, while Chelsea has also shown interest in it.

However, according to FOotball Insiverı, Real Madrid does not want to sell footballer, and Mourinho does not intend to give up his services.

Alexander-Arnold himself is determined to win an important position on the team and return it to the title formation in the 3:0 victory over Racing Santander is seen as a positive step.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s former defender, Glen Johnson, has expressed his stance against a possible return of Alexander-Arnold to England.

According to him, the Englishman is no longer at the level he had during his first adventure at Liverpool, and a return could damage his legacy at the club.

Trent hasn’t been the same footballer since he left Liverpool. He was extraordinary at this club and sometimes it’s best to keep things as they are, Johnson has declared.

He added if Alexander – Arnold would return and fans would expect the same level as before, but he couldn’t afford it, could damage the image he built on Liverpool.
