A Facebook page, some serial episodes and allegations of copyright violations. That is what led to the investigation of a 46-year-old from Skopje who allegedly published television content without authorization.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect, during 2024, as the administrator of a Facebook page, published episodes of a TV series whose exclusive rights belonged to television and were granted for broadcasting only through the contractual agreement.
Following the television report, the Public Basic Prosecutor in Skopje has ordered the investigation, while the Computer and Digital Crime Sector has questioned the suspect and temporarily seized an electronic device. The forensic analysis of the device has confirmed the allegations raised.
After conducting forensic analysis of electronic equipment, claims presented in the television broadcast were confirmed, as well as a statement issued by the person denounced during the informational conversation, the MPB report reported.
The 46-year-old has been presented with criminal speculation for two works, copyright violations and rough rights, as well as piracy of audiovisual work.
