In the margins of the EU Ministerial Forum, Western Justice and Home Affairs, in the panel dedicated to the fight against corruption, I stressed that dealing with this phenomenon requires solid institutional will, an independent and professional justice system, non-compromism enforcement, and sustainable international co-operation.

Fighting corruption requires unwarranted property to be verified, illegal benefits confiscated, public officials hold responsibility for their actions, and criminal networks not to take refuge in the borders of states. No public position, no wealth and no political ties should be a shield against the law.

The Republic of Kosovo remains determined to deepen reforms in justice, strengthen mechanisms for prevention and punishment of corruption and enhance co-operation with European partners, consolidate and strengthen the rule of law, and guarantee responsibility and equality for all equally before the law. /Telegraphy/
