At least 33 people, including women and children, have been killed as a result of Saudi Arabia’s air strikes in Yemen, media related to the Huth movement report.
According to the Saba news agency, controlled by the Huths, the attack was carried out on Saturday in the town of al-Shariyaah, east of Sana capital. An attack reportedly injured 39 others.
Television footage of Al Mashah shows rescue teams pulling victims’ bodies out of the ruins of destroyed buildings. Among them are reportedly young children. Meanwhile, the wounded have been transported by bars to hospitals.
So far, the Saudi Arabia-led coalition, which supports Yemen’s internationally recognised government, has not commented on reports of the attacks.
Saudi Arabia leads for more than a decade a military coalition that fights against the Huth in support of the Yemenian government. After a few years of largely interrupted fighting, the conflict has again escalated into tensions and war with Iran.
Resumption of fighting has resulted in severe clashes between the Hhutts and forces supporting the Romanian government, while the security situation in the country remains tense.
