Barna without authorisation for the Kosovo market, secret warehouses and inadequate conservation conditions. What did the investigation into Prizren’s two drugstores reveal?

Two drugstores in Prizren allegedly sold pharmaceutical products without the necessary authorization to the Kosovo market, while part of the drugs were kept in secret warehouses that failed to meet conservation conditions. These are new findings from the Economic Crimes Action, which the Signal newspaper reported earlier. The investigations had lasted about three months, while the raids uncovered patrol-free drugs worth about 10,000 euros, which were confiscated by Kosovo Customs.

As the signal reported earlier, the action took place on November 5, 2026, at two drugstores on the streets of Sheh Emine/Emini/Elija Dida) and two people were detained for 48 hours.

But the new information provided by the newspaper Signal indicates that the operation was not the result of random scrutiny. For about two to three months, economic crimes investigators had conducted investigative actions, authorising the State Prosecutor, under suspicion that medical products were being traded in these businesses contrary to the law.

What was discovered during the raids was even more disturbing: Hidden warehouses were found in both drugs without banners, in areas that, according to investigative findings, failed to meet the conditions needed for the preservation of pharmaceutical products.

The raids were carried out under the order of the Constitutional Court in Prizren, in co-operation with the Ministry of Health’s Health and Pharmaceutical Inspectorate.

A corresponding drug store and storage were found without banners worth approximately $8,000, while similar products worth about 2 thousand were found in the next drug store.

In total, Kosovo Customs confiscated pharmaceutical products worth an estimated 10,000 euros.

Signal sources suggest that during the operation at the scene, the State Prosecutor’s Office also appeared, while a 48-hour ban by the two suspects, 30-year-old Ozan Pindu, and Saban Hashan, 47, were imposed after the investigation.

The case is being investigated for criminal work production and distribution of harmful medical products.

Investigations are expected to clarify the origin of products, the method of supplying drugs and whether suspicious products are distributed to consumers.

Lack of authorization and inadequate conservation conditions raise serious concerns about the legality of the circulation of these drugs, but their tangible health risk remains to be determined by competent organs.

The suspects enjoy presumption of innocence until a formal form judicial decision.
