Calafiori has become an important player for coach Michael Arteta, placing first choice on the left side of defence. In addition to this position, the Italian prosthetist can also play in the center of the defensive department, offering the team tactical flexibility.
The Madrillians’ interest in the 24-year-old is not new. Real Madrid had been linked to his transfer even before Calafior passed from Bologist to Arsenal in 2024.
According to CaughtOffside, the Spanish club has contacted people near the footballer to see if he would be interested in a transition to Madrid. However, Arsenal continues to take a firm stand and aims to preserve the defender in his makeup.
Calafior’s value is currently estimated at about 65m euros, but his contract with the English club is valid until 2029. For this reason, Arsenal may require a visible higher amount, which according to reports could reach as much as 100m euros, to consider the possibility of selling.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will demonstrate interest with an official offer and whether it will be willing to meet Arsenal’s financial requirements for one of London’s key defenders.
