The Albanian Speleological Association has conducted a new exploration into Albania’s underworld, uncovering and documenting new spaces in the cave known to local residents as the Gjsjsary Gage.
According to the association’s announcement, it is about a completely vertical cave, whose exploration required technical discounts, with depth ranging from 15 to 40m.
After several successive descents, the team reached a larger, almost circular space, about eightm in diameter. Exploration continued through horizontal crossings, climbings, and a final descent.
During this exploration, speleologists passed a total vertical length of about 130 to 140m.
The Society announced that the conditions within the cave were marked by high humidity and low temperatures, while bats and various species of insects live in it.
According to the association, such explorations are important for expanding knowledge of Albania’s speleological heritage, documenting unknown formations and studying the underworld. /Telegraphy/
