Aleksandar Vulin, chairman of the Socialist Movement and chairman of the Supervising Board of the Srbijagas company, has reacted from Moscow after reports that he left Serbia.
He denied that he had fled the country, accusing the new authorities of, as he said, lying and exercising political pressure.
After a whole night of abuse by the new power, here I am, however, in Moscow. This was a night of lies and violence in which they claimed that millions of euros and tens of pounds of gold had been transported into a small backpack.
He said that, according to him, several hundred passengers aboard the plane were mistreated because of political interests.
Voulin also denied that he had left Serbia to avoid any control or investigation.
I’m not going anywhere, I’m not going anywhere. Those who publish these claims on Twitter may not have a family because if they had children, they would know that man cannot leave without his children. You can go to a fight, but you can’t live without your boys. As you cannot live without Serbia, he said.
Why did Air Serbia’s Moscow plane come back?
The case relates to an incident taking place Tuesday evening, when Air Serbia’s plane — with a flight number of Jou134 — which was launched from the airport-Nikola Tesla in Belgrade towards Moscow — returned to the Serbian capital.
The plane had already entered deep into European airspace, near the border between Lithuania and Belarus, when the decision to return it was made.
The Third Public Foundation Prosecutor in Belgrade has confirmed that it will carry out additional verifications regarding this event.
According to the prosecution’s announcement, a guardian prosecutor had been informed by police that the request for the plane’s return was made after examining the security camera footage.
From these images it was noted that one of the travelers had passed security checks accompanied by an official from the Agency for Security and Information ( BIA, without prior control.
A later submitted police report revealed other circumstances: During the transition of one of the travellers to security control, alarm had been activated, but despite that, it had not been further controlled.
Serbian portal Nova.rs reported that the traveler in question was exactly Aleksandar Vulin.
The director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, and the president of the Serbian People’s Party, Nenad Popovic, were also on the plane.
Full circumstances of the plane’s return and claims concerning security control remain the subject of verification by Serbian authorities. /Telegraphy/
