The Special Approves Postscripts in the Thaci Case, and Others

Kosovo’s Specialised Chambers in The Hague have approved publication of versions with fewer editing transcripts of ten witnesses in the trial of Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi.

In the decision published on October 26, 2026The Judicial Chamber II has estimated that parts of transcripts that do not require further editing can be made public, preserving the protection of identity, privacy and safety of witnesses and other persons.

The court has approved the revisions proposed by the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office, with several changes, while praising that an additional revision requested by the Office for Witness Protection and Support is not necessary, especially when relevant information is already public.

Under the decision, the prosecution must hand over the census Office versions of transcripts with less editing, while the latter should ensure the implementation of relevant editings even in Albanian and Serbian versions, as well as audio-visual recordings, as well as in technically possible.
