Albania’s government has seen tougher measures for violations during the protests, including fines of up to 5 thousand euros for persons hiding their identity and failing to obey police orders.
Changes in the Law on Rallys also foresee temporary restrictions on protests near educational, health, and state institutions in cases where there is serious and imminent danger of violence or property damage.
According to the new package, police can order the removal of persons from specific areas for up to 48 hours, if they present threats, use violence or prevent access to these areas.
The measures include electronic registration of persons referred to in the prosecutor or under investigation for violent acts at public gatherings. In certain cases, data can be used by Border Police for verification and implementation of legal restrictions for exiting Albania.
The package also envisions measures on calls for violence on social networks and audiovisual recording of police warnings and incidents during the protests.
