The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Kaya Kallas, has declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no right to veto European security issues, stressing that Ukraine must be fully integrated into the continent’s security architecture.
Kallas made these statements during a joint media conference in Warsaw, accompanied by Poland’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Andri Syhbiza.
She stressed that Europe already has a firm security structure in which NATO and the European Union have their respective roles, while underlining the importance of Ukraine’s full involvement in the facility.
We already have a European security architecture in place. NATO and the European Union each have their respective roles. We have to make sure Ukraine is fully integrated into this facility, Kallas said.
The chief of European diplomacy also stressed that the European Union should have a key role in reaching any possible peace agreement, while demanding that Russia’s Saboting actions against European countries be immediately interrupted.
