Carrick to leave? Eddie Howe Seen as Possible Successor

The Red Days suffered a deep loss of 3:0 to Bournemouth at Old Tuffford, a result of extending to eight match-free matches and leaving the team just over the drop zone from Premier League.

According to reports Sky Sport, the leaders of Manchester United, have begun considering alternatives to the coach’s post even before the recent loss, following the club’s worst start in Premier League history.

The process is expected to accelerate in the coming days. Carrick is expected to hold talks on his future, while football director Jason Wilcox, and chief executive Omar Berrada, are expected to meet with club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

In this situation, Eddie Howe is seen as the main candidate to replace Carrick, ahead of former German elector Julian Nagelsmann.

Howe, who left Newcastle Unitedi during the summer, may be an easier option to engage, since Manchester Unitedi would not have to pay compensation for it. According to reports, he is willing to discuss the possibility of taking over the club from Manchester.

However, Howe is expected to initially host United’s final decision on the future of Carrick, before holding concrete talks on the post.
