Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has given no concrete answers regarding reports of lack of uniforms and equipment for Kosovo Police officials.
Asked about the issue, Kurti has said the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the institution responsible for providing information concerning the equipment supply process and uniforms for police.
He has stressed that the budget for the Kosovo Police has steadily increased and that, according to him, there has never been more state and government care for security institutions.
I will now go there and of course it is a new achievement that the Republic of Kosovo is adding to more than 300 new screws, of which about 30% are women. As for the equipment supply, in uniforms, is the Ministry of Internal Affairs that can give them the right answer on how the processes go, but the budget for the Kosovo Police has grown steadily and there has never been more state and government care for police, army, officer and uniform as it is now, Kurti said.
Reports of lack of uniforms and equipment also raised questions about the postponement of the 63rd generation of police cadets.
The graduation ceremony of this generation will be held today, at 16:30, while over 300 new officials are expected to join the Kosovo Police.
