Oil expected to be released in Albania, Rama shows how low the price will be

Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has warned of changing the way the circulation tax collection was collected under the draft budget for 2027.

According to Rama, the tax will be removed from the price of oil and will be moved to vehicles, which, according to him, will bring about $32 per litre, or about 35 cents.

We’re going to remove the traffic tax from the price of oil and automatically reduce $32 on the pump. As we place the tax on the car and collect it through road transport. We will place a circulation tax, as is Europe, on foreign vehicles entering Albania, Rama has declared.

The Albanian prime minister has presented the draft budget for 2027, worth 10 billion euros, which, according to Albanian media, is the highest ever drafted.

Under this draft budget, Rama has indicated that the government is aiming to reduce the VAT rate for 54 basic food products, from 20 to 6 percent.

Likewise, bonus increases for several categories of pensioners have been envisioned, as well as investments in defence, education, health and agriculture sectors.
